My Top 5 Favorite Tarot Decks

As my Tarot Deck Collection continues to grow so changes what decks I actively use. Sometimes it’s just acquiring a highly sought after deck, or perhaps the season… but any active tarot reader knows what it’s like to rotate out decks. Sometimes it’s hot… sometimes it’s not πŸ™‚ I’m not even going to peak (just yet) as to which decks were on my Top 5 Favorite Tarot Decks of 2019 but I’m curious how or if my tastes have changed.

For now let’s take a look at my 5 top favorite tarot decks for 2020. At the end of the blog I am going to give a bonus oracle deck that, although is not released yet, I am highly anticipating getting it πŸ™‚

RWS Borderless edition

I know, I know… it’s like the most boring most run of the mill tarot deck ever BUT it holds a special place in my heart. I spent so long searching and buying all these beautiful high quality decks and it just seems SO weird to really have a special relationship with an OG deck but, it is what it is!

The Rider Waite Smith Borderless edition is and has been the perfect deck for me. Considering myself to still be a newb and in the learning process, sticking with a deck that has traditional imagery is clutch in my learning process. This one by far is my go-to deck and has always served me well!

The Bad Ass Tarot

is by FAR one of the most vibrant, cheeky and fun tarot decks I own. Recently added to my collection over the past month or so I enjoy the conversations I can have with this deck!

It certainly is that friend that wants you to let you hair down, have a good time and not take life and situations too seriously. The conversations are like having insight from a close friend that only wants your happiness but will keep it real with you!

The Light Seer’s Tarot

I would have to say should be a staple in anyone’s collection. The artwork is just stunning! Very unique and offers and interesting perspective while working within the RWS system! It is now being mass produced which means cheaper costs but the quality is not sacraficed.

I always say that reading with this deck is like talking to a great therapist. Really listens to your problems and offers solutions in such a calm and insightful way. It’s a very deep deck and it’s overall inclusive energy is welcome to anyone!

The Slow Tarot

by Lacey Bryant is a STUNNING 78 card deck on premium linen cardstock with guidebook. The deck took over 6 years to make as each image is an original oil painting ( crazy right ?!? )

The images offer such a cool persective into the traditional RWS meanings by either giving us fresh vantage points, or really drawing out the meanings through the color pallet or facial expressions of the characters. I don’t want to go throwing around the term ‘Soul deck’ but this one certainly has a special place in my heart from the moment I got it!

Anima Mundi Tarot

by Creeping Moon studios that made the Wild Nocturna Oracle brings you the Anima Mundi Tarot. If you have one, you need the other πŸ™‚ This is printed on a high quality stock with linen finish and matte gold gilding.

This is an all animal deck (which I love) except the one human in the deck is the Devil card, which I find to be hilarious! And yes, I know humans are animals too but you know what I mean! Such a beautiful deck that is fun to work with and for sure this will be used in my collection forever!

Bonus deck time bonus deck time!!!

And yes, this has NOT be released yet… but hey, it’s cool to get all hyped about a new deck coming right !?! πŸ™‚ So I just thought I’d share just in case you haven’t seen πŸ™‚

Oak, Ash & Thorn

This is a goooooooooorgeous animal deck I have been following the creation of for over a year now and it has FINALLY been funded on Kickstarter and will be released later in the year of 2020 !!!!!!!!!!

It has TONS of squirrels and woodland creatures in it so you KNOW I’m ’bout it ’bout it! I honestly don’t have too much information on it and I really don’t care after seeing the artwork for it lol

I adore Rider Waite, I use it always for daily readings. I have such a good relationship with it, I think because it was my first ever deck I’ve just worked with it and worked with it and the readings are clear for me. Tarot is just one of those things you never stop learning from, there’s so many different ways of reading the cards and working with them in your life. We will probably always be newbies 🀣
