The Luminous Void Tarot by Laura Zuspan is a 78 card deck based in the RWS system and is quite prestigious in the divination community!
We’ve begun building a focused independent artist-made tarot collection for MIT Libraries Distinctive Collections and Luminous Void Tarot is a part of that special collection for study, use and preservation. It is the first and only such collection and even in the course of building it it’s become clear that many of these independent decks are really ephemeral — one of the goals is to be able to preserve a large range of the decks that are being put out in order to demonstrate the variety and innovations in this form.
This is a very exciting moment to capture tarot and we are honored to be able to help document and preserve it. We’re glad to be able to have your work as part of the collection

This uniquely shaped deck has beautiful gold matte gilded edges on a high quality buttery matte card. Coming in a delicious two piece durable box and little white guidebook too! The artwork is water colored paintings representing the traditional imagery in it’s own way!
To be quite frank: Personally, this is not going to be a working deck! The Luminous Void is happily ushered into my collection as a piece of art. I know many people that work closely with the deck and love using it, but it’s just not my jam.

The artwork, although lovely, is too vague for me to feel comfortable working with. More importantly, I just don’t personally connect with it! I think it is really interesting and unique. Unlike anything else I have in my collection. The quality of the deck is AH-mazing and right up my alley.

Agreed. Love the backs and the colours but the water colour art doesn’t have enough symbolism for my liking either. Needs line drawings underneath it to give definition.

This deck reminds me a wee bit of the Minchiate Tarot
Working with individual cards and focusing may prove to be a challenge

This is stunning but I can see it going up on my wall rather than being read from.
