The Slow Tarot is a 78 card deck by Lacey Bryant. Based in the RWS system this deck is BE-U-TI-FUL! Lacey has taken her amazing oil paintings and applied them to tarot and what a great combination it is! This was a project that took her over 6 years to complete and the passion in her work shows!
I don’t want to go throwing around the term ‘Soul Deck’ all willy-nilly-like, but uhh…. I think I may have found THE ONE!
The cards are a standard tarot size on premiere linen card stock. It comes with a little 24 page guidebook. I’ve never been a huge fan of guidebooks, although I would say I’ve started to pay a little more attention. It’s nice to know about the artist and their vision with the cards. With this guidebook we get a few sentences about the meanings of the cards and that’s it. Short and sweet!

The Aces in the deck are the only borderless cards, which I like. They stand out, make a statement. And let’s be real…are just beautiful!
The bordered cards are color toned to match the suit. Which for me is a nice subconscious hint of what suit your looking at with the color association.
Notice the little animals in each of the Aces ? There’s a newt on the wand, hummingbirds around the sword, a dragonfly by the cup and a mouse or shrew skull by the coin!

Some of my favorite cards are pictured to the right. It was difficult choosing only a few to showcase as I really vibe with the art in the whole deck!
I think Lacey does SUCH a good job of translating the emotions and feelings through her art! It’s crazy at how much information you can get from just one picture!
