Dark Mansion Tarot

The Dark Mansion Tarot by Taroteca Studios is another high quality deck that I welcome to my collection. Through their site buyers have the options of different card backs and size depending on taste and budget.

BE AWARE this item is shipping from Poland? Or somewhere around those parts so for any American purchasers it takes about a month to arrive. Put your patience pants on and have faith in the company as you are not provided with any tracking information either.

Despite the longer than average wait time for a package to arrive without being able to track it’s every move the deck is totally worth getting if this is something you are drawn to!

I don’t know about you but not being able to track my package or know when to expect it had me a little on edge. I’m used to knowing when my pizza goes in the oven and that ‘Todd’ is boxing it up and when he’s expected to pull up to my door to bring me my dinner. So having faith that a relatively expensive deck is just going to safely make it to me is a bit unnerving! Especially to put faith in any sort of shipping company (no offense if you work for a shipping company) makes this Aries a little on edge!

For those Deck Sniffers out there boy are you in for a treat! lol It smells great, it feels great and looks great too!

The cards are larger than standard tarot size with a smooth matte finish and gold gilded edges. The artwork reminds me of a Tim Burton film, like Nightmare Before Christmas or something and is totally adorable!

This stays true to the classic RWS imagery but with it’s special take on it! This deck for sure would be great for beginners working withing the RWS system!

The Dark Mansion Tarot is a joint work of the originator and producer Krzysztof Wasiuk, who is also the founder of the Taroteca Studio project, and graphic artist Magdalena Kaczan, who is the author of all graphics for cards. The deck was being made almost two and a half years, combining hand and computer drawing techniques in the last phases of drawing and coloring. Countless projects, ideas and modifications have resulted in cards that we hope will delight you.

The Dark Mansion Tarot

Pictured to the right we get to see some of the art style here in the Major Arcana.

These are some of my favorite cards within the Majors and I’m not sure I have the words to describe the feels they give me.

Between the art style and the colors the cards are so rich and really cool to look at. It rather is an enjoyable deck to work with!

Here are the Ace’s within the deck! Certainly very bold images that really pop on the cards!

Typically I’m not a huge fan of borders unless they make sense for the deck. I feel this deck utilizes them very well. I chose to get the larger edition deck and honestly as large as the cards are I think the borders are even more appropriate!

Here are some of my favorite cards within the Minor Arcana. As you can see they honor the traditional RWS imagery while putting their own spin on the art.

This is why I feel this deck would be great for a beginner as you still get a traditional style image but perhaps can be more relatable to some!

I also think this imagery is a little less intimidating as it is a cartoon style of art!

Overall this is an excellent deck in my opinion and I would totally rate this 5 out of 5 acorns for sure! Between the really cool art style of the deck, the quality of the deck and packaging plus the smell-good-smells lol this deck is a homerun for sure!

Im glad you posted this. I just ordered the deck about 3 days ago and im getting nervous about whether i have gotten myself into a scam because I have read comments about people not getting their decks yet. If I dont get a tracking info, does that mean the status of my order will remain at “order confirmed” until the deck is delivered? What was your experience?

    1. As far as I remember the ONLY reason I got an update was because I harassed the fuck out of them until I got a response about tracking info lol. I probably emailed 4 or 5 times before I got an answer and honestly the tracking didn’t mean shit bc once it got out of their post office hands it doesn’t matter. Like… USPS is either everywhere or works WITH the post offices so you can always see the tracking right? Well once it leaves their country there are never any updates on where the package is! Lol…. the best I can tell you is have faith it will come! As far as I’m aware I don’t think anyone has NOT received theirs. The whole shipping part is just aggravating!

Its crazy. I see the potential of the business for this artist but I just feel sorry about how other folks take advantage of the weaknesses of this small business. I see his work being sold at insane prices. The regular version being sold at $112, the large one for $500. I would hate to see the money go to the ‘middle man’ just because people is frustrated buying directly from the artist because of the dog slow shipment.
ugh! That money is rightfully in the artist’s pocket in my opinion.
